Hi, I'm Savanna, though most people know me as Vana! I am a student midwife, full-spectrum holistic doula, childbirth educator, and traditional energy practitioner. I support individuals and families through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, pregnancy loss, and the many seasons of reproductive life. As a mother who chose to birth my daughter at home, I understand how deeply birth can shape us and how important it is to feel informed, respected, and genuinely supported.
My work in birth began in 2019 when I completed my Birth Doula training with Debra Pascali-Bonaro, internationally recognized childbirth educator and producer of Orgasmic Birth. I later became a certified Full-Spectrum Doula and Childbirth Educator through Birthing Advocacy, expanding my ability to provide evidence-informed education and compassionate support throughout the reproductive continuum.
After years of serving families as a doula and educator, I chose to pursue midwifery to expand my clinical knowledge and skills while remaining grounded in the philosophy that birth is a normal physiological process. My apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to care for families more comprehensively while strengthening my ability to recognize normal variations, identify when birth is moving outside of its normal course, and collaborate with medical providers when higher levels of care become necessary.
I believe birth works best when it is protected, not controlled. When a healthy pregnancy is supported with patience, trust, informed decision-making, and an environment that promotes safety and connection, the body is often capable of doing exactly what it was designed to do! My role is not to manage your birth, but to provide education, hands-on support, careful observation, and the reassurance needed to help you make informed decisions with confidence. When complications arise, I also believe families deserve honest communication, timely intervention, and respectful collaboration with the appropriate medical team.
My practice brings together evidence-informed care, traditional knowledge, and complementary healing practices.
Alongside my birth work, I have continued my education in herbalism, Reiki, traditional energy practices, astrology, and other supportive modalities. These services are always optional and are offered to complement, not replace, appropriate medical care.
Above all, I believe every person deserves care that is individualized, respectful, and centered on informed choice. Whether you are preparing for birth, adjusting to postpartum life, navigating pregnancy loss, exploring fertility, or simply looking for guidance and trusted resources, my goal is to provide steady support that honors your values, your instincts, and your decisions.
It is a privilege to be invited into such an important season of someone's life, and I never take that responsibility for granted. My hope is that every family I serve leaves feeling more confident, more informed, and more connected to themselves than when we first met. I look forward to supporting you and your family!
I believe birth is a normal physiological process that thrives when it is protected, respected, and supported. My role is not to direct your experience, but to provide evidence-informed education, compassionate care, and steady support while honoring your instincts, your choices, and your family's unique needs.
Every pregnancy, birth, and reproductive experience is different. I am committed to creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and confident in making informed decisions that align with your values. Whether you are welcoming new life, navigating loss, or seeking guidance through another season of reproductive health, it is an honor to support you.
